The papers of Alexander Meigs Haig, Jr., (1924-2010) span the years 1962-1982, with the largest concentration between the years 1973-1982. The collection covers his years of service as military assistant to Henry Kissinger, deputy assistant to the president for national security affairs, chief of White House staff, the brief period he was vice chief of staff of the United States. Army, his appointment as Supreme Allied Commander Europe, and his term as secretary of state during the Reagan administration.
